Global Citizens Pen Pal Program
The Global Citizens Pen Pal Program is designed to teach students to become globally conscious and to help them develop global competencies to actively participate in and address Social, Political, Economic or Environmental issues. In 2015, the United Nations world leaders identified 17 global goals known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs/Global Goals) which they believed all nations need to address to transform our world by 2030.
Developing a global mindset and cultivating a desire to take action locally is an important core value all students and educators should embrace. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is a vehicle to help everyone make a difference no matter how big or small. The Global Goals are also aligned with the Howard County Public School System Vision,
